Jeanna Gomez. The Moment Somatic Experiencing Made Complete Sense

This is one of those episodes that makes you say to yourself, “Yes, this is why I’m a therapist!” Jeanna Gomez, LCSW is my guest today and she’s truly what this podcast is all about: she’s dedicated her life to helping individuals who’ve been impacted by trauma; she’s super smart; and she’s beyond inspirational. I’m confident you’ll enjoy this interview with her.

Jeanna is a trauma and relational therapist who offers private counseling to individuals, couples, families and groups.

She utilizes the PI, Pia Mellody, model to heal childhood developmental trauma, relational trauma, codependence, anxiety disorders and addictions.

She is a Lead Assistant and a new Faculty Track Candidate with Somatic Experiencing International.

In addition to her training with Pia Mellody, she has also been trained in EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Brainspotting, Bodywork and Somatic Education (BASE), Integral Somatic Psychology and uses these models with her clients to heal shock trauma, including developmental trauma.

She conducts seminars and presentations on various subjects and has a monthly informational blog called "Psych Topics".

Jeanna works under the premise that good clinical work is necessary to assist clients in addressing their concerns, identifying their options and establishing solutions. She understands that it takes increased skills training to provide high-level treatment and feels it is necessary to always increase her knowledge in the counseling field in order to assist clients in their healing process.

As a client going to her office you will know that she will give you all her attention, knowledge and dedication to assist you in working through issues that affect your life, provide you with support as you work through difficult life transitions, and assist you in increasing your strengths and overall well being.
