Julia Barry is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Somatic Experiencing® practitioner, and certified EMDR Practitioner in Boston, MA.
Julia's clinical practice focuses on the treatment of trauma and dissociative disorders. Julia has received training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, with an emphasis on adult and infant attachment as well as cognitive behavioral therapy, and advanced training in Somatic Experiencing® and EMDR.
Julia remains passionate about staying up to date with the most cutting-edge modalities in the field of trauma treatment. Julia also enjoys being an assistant in the Somatic Experiencing® 3 year Professional Training, providing consultation to EMDR clinicians and teaching the principles of somatic practices to the general public. Julia has studied Buddhist meditation extensively in both the United States and Myanmar and enjoys developing workshops at Boston Meditation Center with a focus on the intersection between Buddhist principles and Western Psychology.
