The Struggle of Being Myself with Gregory Elsasser-Chavez

Gregory is gay Christian man who was divorced from his ex-wife in 2019 and subsequently lost his children. Before that he had gone through fifteen years of aversion and reparative “ex-gay” therapy, such as sniffing dog feces, “defeating issues of masculinity” by playing sports with other gay men, completing ex-gay courses, and being placed into two mental hospitals.

Gregory talks to people about coming out later in life and dealing with the trauma of religious reparative therapy and the entire ex-gay movement.
