Questions:
Welcome to The Trauma Therapist | Podcast! Though this is The Trauma Therapist | Podcast, I invite individuals from all backgrounds and professions on the podcast--therapists, filmmakers, yogis, politicians and teachers--with the common denominator being trauma, and more specifically, a passion for helping those who've been impacted by trauma. Given that, our discussion will move based on your profession, speciality, background, and interest. This experience is meant to be relaxed, and chill, and without a lot of stress! My ultimate goal is to squeeze as much inspiration out of you as I can!
The questions below are specifically geared towards trauma therapists and are merely used as a guide for the interview.
Questions for Trauma Therapists:
The purpose of this interview is to really understand your journey, your struggles and triumphs, and the steps you've taken to get into this field.
Stories, stories, stories
To do that, we want to hear stories, not general or aerial views of topics. We want to hear specific stories about your journey, experiences, individuals you've worked with (excluding names of course), and moments which have made a difference in your life. Stories are things we can relate to and are that which will inspire us!My goal here is to raise awareness of trauma and inspire other trauma clinicians and survivors!
Examples of some questions I'll ask
Your Start
I'll ask how you got into this field--of trauma, or therapy, or yoga etc.
Early Clinical Error
I'll ask about an early clinical error or mistake you made and what you learned from that.
This is important simply because it gives our listeners the opportunity to hear how someone with your experience and expertise not only went through a period of struggle, but also what you took away from it.
A Go-To Book Recommendation
As you we ready to close out I'll ask about a book you'd like to recommend, (and distinct from your own, if you have a book) whether trauma related for not.
The interviews usually go for about 35 minutes.
After this, we'll come to a close and say good-bye.
